The SDOC Board of Trustees and district leadership are seeking public input on a new long range building plan. The district encourages families and community members to read through the Long Range Building Plan Proposal and submit feedback if desired.
At their September 18th meeting, the School District of Oconee County Board of Trustees recognized two Seneca High School students, Daniel Grayden and Trevor Dawson, and Seneca area bus driver Rick Walton for their actions during a medical emergency suffered by another bus driver earlier in the month. Dr. Thorsland thanked both Daniel and Trevor for their leadership and willingness to help during the difficult situation. He also thanked Mr. Rick Walton for stepping in to help ensure the safety of the students on both buses. Dr. Thorsland said, “Your willingness to help and remain calm in a difficult situation is to be commended.”
At its regularly scheduled board meeting held on Monday, September 11, 2023, the School District of Oconee County Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Mrs. Brooke Davis as assistant principal for Seneca High School.
The School District of Oconee County has transitioned to MySchoolBucks for student payments for the 2023-2024 school year. This payment platform will be used for all payments, including meals, field trips, athletic tickets, and others.
Families are encouraged to download the MySchoolBucks app and set up their account. Families can use the QR code below or visit www.myschoolbucks.com to register for an account or to download the app. A link can also be found on the parent table of the district and all school websites. Once in the app, be sure to select "South Carolina" and "School District of Oconee County" so you can add your student.

It also includes a link to registration dates for next year, details on summer meals, and info on mental health resources. We encourage all of our families to read through the information provided.
