South Carolina is seeking input from stakeholders regarding the DRAFT 2023  College and Career Ready Math Standards. The public review period will end on Monday, June 12, 2023.

All stakeholders are invited to review the draft standards and provide feedback using the online forms below by Monday, June 12, 2023.

On Saturday, May 27th, the School District of Oconee County will honor a total of 638 graduates at commencement ceremonies at each high school. The district is proud to announce the Class of 2023 valedictorians and salutatorians.

Free summer meals for kids

The School District of Oconee County will begin summer meals on Monday, June 5th.  Meals will be available Monday through Friday through July 21st. No meals will be available July 3rd - 7th due to the July 4th holiday. Children do not have to be enrolled with the School District of Oconee County to receive meals.

At its regularly scheduled board meeting held Monday, May 15, 2022, the School District of Oconee County Board of Trustees approved several administrative hires for the 2023-2024 school year.  Dr. Michael Thorsland, superintendent, said, “Robin and Josh have demonstrated strong, positive leadership for many years and we look forward to the expertise they bring to their new positions.  We also look forward to working with Mr. McAtee as he joins the administrative team at Seneca High.”

At a special called meeting on Tuesday, May 2nd, the Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Mrs. Elizabeth McDonald to fill the position of Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Instruction and Mr. Anthony Smith to fill the position of Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Instruction.
