Kristen MartinHi friends! My name is Kristen Martin and I am so incredibly happy to be the school counselor at Orchard Park Elementary! I am proud to say I was born and raised in Westminster, am a graduate of West-Oak High, and was once a student here at OPE! My favorite thing to do is spend time with my husband and our daughter; everything is better with them! I love to spend time with family and friends who are like family, and I also really enjoy watching sports. Currently, my daughter plays both softball and volleyball so those two are high on my list of favorites! And as always, Go Tigers!

As your school counselor, I’m here to support our students’ social, emotional, and academic growth. Students can stop by my office anytime, and families are always welcome to reach out at kcmartin@sdoc.org.

Description of services:

As a school counselor, I provide both direct and indirect services as a means of meeting the social, emotional, academic, and career needs of my students. 

Direct Services:

  • Instruction - whole classroom lessons based on character development and students’ needs
  • Appraisal and Advisement - assessment and advisement for students’ interests and abilities
  • Counseling - short term individual and group counseling sessions based on students’ needs

Indirect Services:

  • Consultation - share strategies for student success with parents/guardians, staff members, and community members
  • Collaboration - work with parents/guardians, staff members, and professionals within the community to support student success
  • Referrals - make referrals to community agencies as needed in order to best support students and their families
